Report on Quranic Recitation Workshop Project

Assalamualaikum w.b.t. 😊

    On 26 December 2021, a workshop or 1 hour class of Quranic Recitation was held. Google meet was used as the platform to organize the workshop. It was attended by 2 participants as written in the proposal and me as the mentor. Our class started a bit late as we have some technical issues and the participants needed a few minutes to attend the class. Alhamdulillah, it was not an issue as the problems were solved and we start our class at 11.30 am till 12.15 am. During this workshop, I remember a quote from Uthman RA, Nabi SAW said:

"The best people among you are those who study Quran and teach it to others."

(Hadith riwayat al-Bukhari, No. 5027, Abu Dawud, No. 1452, at-Tirmizi, No.2907)

    Last but not least, I want to give my gratitude to IIUM because through this Usrah class I could contribute by giving some effort and bits of knowledge to other people. For this recent usrah, I taught other people Quran and tajweed so I hope I can continue this activity even when I graduated. I feel grateful as I have contributed to this ummah. May our deeds be accepted by Allah and become one of our jariyyah after we leave this world. Aamiin Ya Rabb.

11.30 am - recitation of surah al-Fatihah

11. am     - tajweed briefing (importance of studying and applying tajweed, makhraj huruf, hukum mad, qalqalah, and rules of huruf 'ر'.

12.05 pm - recitation of short surah with applying the correct tajweed (surah al-ikhlas, surah al-falaq and surah an-nas)

                - checking and giving feedback based on their recitations

12.15pm - closing (recitation of tasbih kifarah and surah al-'as) / disperse
